Located within one of Perth’s CBD iconic contemporary towers at 108 St Georges Terrace, the proposed new offices for South 32 established a strong design statement for an entirely new business focused on mining non ferrous metals.
With an accelerated program delivering the project one month ahead of schedule, stage 1 of the project incorporated a contiguous workspace over 9 floors and space within the Palace for a business lounge.
There were a number of design challenges to overcome to accommodate the fit-out within the existing building including establishing compatibility with the existing base build network interfaces and coordination with the separately contracted MCR works. Additionally, there was a reliance on Byte to successfully design and implement an AV system.
Stage 2 involved working within Heritage Listed zones within the Palace Hotel. A great deal of sensitivity was necessary to complete the design and overcome issues during the construction phase to ensure the end product complimented the existing heritage areas
